Faces do Tempo - Painting Series
Faces do Tempo is my first series of paintings. It is an attempt to consolidate a vision based on more than 15 years producing intuitive illustrations. 15+ years illustrating people and personal experiences
These illustrations documented diverse experiences throughout my life and career in Brazil, also reference the many people who crossed my path. In a similar way, the artworks in this series tell stories. The faces presented here illustrate people and narratives of a certain time.
I knew I’d use these drawings someday, that’s the reason I saved most of them, but i never imagined that it would be done now (2024) or even here in the Netherlands. Without any doubt, the pandemic, plus the huge amount of new experiences I had here so far, the good and the bad, influenced this need of consolidation.

Still during the pandemic in 2021 the project idea was initially designed on computer to be presented as a series of decorative colourful posters. In 2023 after had joined a art course in Amsterdam and experimenting many different materials to produce isolated artworks and studies, I have decided in 2024 to get beck to this project, but transforming them into paintings.
This decision pushed me out from the computer completely, and I could focus on experimenting more with painting techniques I was curious about. It also challenged myself to create a new routine and paint everyday with one specific focus during several months. While I was painting the series, I noticed the artworks transforming themselves, which is also happened to me along the way.
